Tarva Talks Teaching

I started this blog to share my experiences as a parent teaching my children. I have two boys, a 14 year old and a 17 year old college student. Education has been a priority in our lives and we started teaching our boys at young ages. We used fun learning.

Currently, my college son is attending the university on full scholarship. My younger son is attending a gifted program for our school district. He was just recently named a Junior Scholar based on test scores from the PSAT. Learning is about more than grades but I believe that if you are enjoying learning then the grades will reflect this.

I believe that teaching is the responsibility of the parent as much as it is the responsibility of the school teacher. I will share our experiences and some of the things that made learning easy and fun. I will include some homeschool materials we used (you don't have to be a homeschooler to use homeschool materials).

This blog will include learning at all levels - preschool to college. Hopefully, I can include a tip for preschool / elementary and a tip for junior high/ high school each day. I also tutor high school students planning to take the SAT and will include a seperate post each week with SAT tips.

If you have specific questions please don't hesitate to leave a comment. I will answer with our experiences.
